Calvin Beale is a Juno Award winning and in demand live/studio bassist.  He has backed some of the world’s greatest artists including:

As one of Canada’s most in demand session bassists, Calvin is currently on tour with Johnny Reid and working with many other artists both live and in the studio.  He is also an instructor at Centennial College in Toronto as well as Merriam School of Music where he works with ensemble groups passing on his knowledge and teaching younger students how to play in a group.  

Calvin sat down to catch up with our own Cameron Dougall to talk session work, touring, influences and to lay down a fantastic lesson on improvisation that’s great for beginners and pros alike.
