Dmitry Gorodetsky - Low End Nation - Online Bass Guitar Lessons from beginner to advanced bass lessons!

Dmitry was born in Russia, former Soviet Union and moved with his family to the U.S. at the age of 10. His family settled in Massachusetts, an hour west of Boston so there was lots of musical inspiration nearby.

He began playing music early on starting with drums at the age of 3 and then exploring piano, guitar, trumpet and then finally settling on upright and electric bass.  Music became the main focus in his life by his teenage years and countless hours were spent on practicing. Dmitry studied with local teachers and was inspired by many jazz musicians from the area. He played his first professional gig at the age of 14 and so began his career as bassist. He played and studied a lot of jazz eventually performing with saxophonist Jerry Bergonzi, drummer Bob Gulotti amongst many others in the Boston jazz scene.

As he got deeper into music his musical tastes also evolved. He was inspired by everything from Jimi Hendrix, Beatles and Rolling Stones to Hip Hop to Blues as well as funk soul R&B and pop music. While still in his teenage years he also ended up traveling to Europe with a symphony orchestra playing double bass. Specifically on acoustic bass his influences range from Jimmy Garrison, Ray Brown and Sam Jones to electric bassists like Pino Palladino, Anthony Jackson, Louis Johnson, James Jamerson and Larry Graham.

Dmitry has performed, toured and recorded with the following artists. Charlie Puth, Usher, John Legend, Kanye West, Raphael Saadiq, Ledisi, Dionne Warwick, Lauryn Hill, Fantasia, Eric Benet, Kenny Lattimore, Wycleffe Jean, Rita Ora, Nas, Christina Aguilera, New Kids on the Block, TLC, 50 Cent. He has toured all over Europe, South America, Middle East and the Carribean as well as US and North America. He has also made many TV appearances including JimmyFallon, Jimmy Kimmel, Good Morning America, Ellen Show, The Voice, Today Show, VH1 Morning Buzz amongst many other TV series and commercials. Also recently he was part of a Grammy winning album by John Legend ‘Bigger Love’ which won in the category of R&B album of the year.
